Deep Professional Expertise- are you 5 Questions deep on your Subject?
This is an incredibly important insight and supremely important for anyone interested in remaining relevant for now and the future professionally.
Having operational or transactional skills to coordinate and facilitate are important and needed everywhere, however being in pursuit of building deep Expertise by identifying your areas of interest and the opportunities around you, are extremely important for creating sustainable careers.
Knowing what you don’t know, and being willing to do the work to build it will save you the charade of pretense and Dunning Kruger effect like biases that make you unaware of your own ignorance.
Remaining current, reading and making the effort will find you Mentors and colleagues who will also support your endeavor.
Your Expertise gives you confidence, is a personal space to develop deep thinking capabilities and can ride you past retirement age and other insecurities.
