Precept #8
Respect Begets Respect

Being Respectful is a powerful interpersonal skill- this reflects in not only what/how we communicate, but how we behave.

It’s a great indicator of Social intelligence, but cannot selectively be demonstrated when we want someone to think favourably of us, or when we need or want something from them. Respect is abiding for all and when we don’t experience it we must ask if we have Respected first.

At work being respectful of all is a Pre-requisite, but being authentic, maintaining the dignity of others, always bridging even after a disagreement, being the first to reach out and help- including those who are not like us, is the kind of Respect that Begets Respect.

Precept #8 is
Respect Begets Respect
