Do you agree one of the biggest opportunity of the pandemic has been to build the Compassion muscle?
Yet Compassion, Kindness and Empathy to support and uplift performance are generally paid lip service to than actually manifested especially in the Workplace.

One of the greatest missed opportunity I see in the workplace is that of uplifting Talent as a Coach. The opportunity to be Leader as Teacher and drop the Boss tag. Reducing that power distance can do Magic! To begin with you trigger Growth Mindsets in action, no more pretending they know, asking questions and seeking clarity instead. Feedback becomes more impactful as it’s not laced with judgements and penal actions. There is greater acceptance and willingness to change and improve performance. The Manager as Teacher upholds being the Role model, becomes conscious of Personal effectiveness and accountable not only upwards but to the team.

In our work at Capstone in the space of Leader as Coach we have palpably observed the Team becoming more empowered, more knowledgeable and confident with execution. Everyone grows in the positive virtuous cycle of Teaching and Learning. Most of all instead of toxicity and leaving for poor Boss management, the Leader as Coach becomes the most precious relationship that makes the Employer Brand more attractive.

Finally, finally this is important because this is ALL we will remember about our Careers. The People who you made a difference to and those who helped build you. Not through favors or cronyism but because they truly believed in and nurtured your Talent, inspiring you to Pay Forward… #team #opportunity #career #management #people #learning #learning #change
